Two traffic stops by Second District officers resulted in the confiscation of three firearms and two bags of narcotics yesterday.

NOPD Seventh District General Assignment officers have arrested a 15-year-old male for multiple charges including vehicle burglary and firing a weapon at a passing vehicle.

The NOPD and FBI announced today that two individuals have been arrested and indicted in an attempted armed robbery at the intersection of Tulane Avenue and South Galvez Street on May 31, 2017 that resulted in the death of armored truck driver James McBride.

During the past week NOPD officers and the Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested 33 adults and 2 juveniles for major offenses including homicide, attempted murder, home invasion, rape, armed robbery, burglary, aggravated battery and assault.
