The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a person of interest in a shooting that occurred at the intersection of North Claiborne Avenue and Elysian Fields Avenue. 

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in a business burglary that occurred in the 1700 block of Mardi Gras Boulevard on December 1, 2023.

NOTE: While the announced public input period for this program was posted through December 1, 2023, the NOPD continues to welcome public input on all aspects of its policy.

On November 28, 2023, the NOPD hosted a public information event at its Training & Education Academy to discuss plans to begin using Small Unmanned Aircraft System technology (sUAS), commonly referred to as drone technology, to assist the agency as both a force multiplier and a crime-fighting tool.

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in as well as a vehicle used in the commission of a shooting that occurred in the 0-10 block of Canal Street on September 25, 2023.

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals today (November 29, 2023) arrested Donald Delaune (black male, DOB: 10-02-1993) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on October 21, 2023, in the 1000 block of North Peters Street.
