NOPD Management Analytics
The New Orleans Police Department uses data for management purposes. The dashboards below are used during Management Analytics for eXcellence (MAX) meetings. MAX meetings replaced COMSTAT meetings, which were primarily focused on information sharing regarding crime trends. MAX takes that approach even further by focusing not only on crime, but all other topics for which a Captain has responsibility. The MAX meetings enable NOPD to dive deep into the systemic issues of crime, management, community policing, and risk management to develop solutions aimed at the root of the issue. To that end, the MAX meeting includes Lieutenants and Sergeants who have responsibility at the unit level in creating or sustaining that change. MAX facilitates the Superintendent’s vision of creating a more informed Department from the Superintendent down to each and every officer.

NOPD Demographics
Employees of the New Orleans Police Department record demographic information with the human resources department. Human Resources stores the demographic data in ADP. This visualization shows the sex, race, age, and years of service in counts and percentages for all of NOPD. It can be filtered to show or hide data for civilian, commissioned, and reserve personnel with the Rank dropdown. The data can also be filtered with the Bureau and Command dropdowns. This data is refreshed every Sunday, but generally changes on a bi-weekly basis except for exceptional circumstances.
