Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals today (February 3, 2022) arrested Dwight Henry (not pictured, black male, DOB: 03-26-1991) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on November 19, 2021 in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue.
At around 11:45p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to the location for a call of aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unknown adult male victim suffering with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Henry as a perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on one count of second-degree murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
NOPD VOWS and the U.S. Marshals located Henry today in Marrero, La. and arrested him without incident. Henry is being held in the Jefferson Parish Corrections Center as a fugitive and is awaiting extradition to Orleans Parish.
Henry is the second suspect arrested in this investigation. On February 4, Josharin Henry was arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder.
