Suspect Identified by NOPD as Wanted on Multiple Charges

The NOPD has obtained arrest warrants for Daniel Roberts (pictured, white male, DOB: 11-27-1969) in the investigation of two incidents that occurred in the Eighth District.

At about 1:15 a.m. on July 29, the victim had his wallet reportedly stolen and his cell phone snatched out of his hand by an unknown black male while in the 400 block of Bourbon Street. Through investigation, it was learned that the same subject then allegedly met up with Roberts at a nearby business and provided him with the victim’s photo ID and several debit cards. Roberts then allegedly used the stolen property to receive several cash advances from the business, totaling more than $3,000.

Roberts is currently wanted on charges of felony identity theft and possession of stolen property. He also has an outstanding warrant in the investigation of an aggravated assault that occurred on August 30 in the 900 block of Decatur Street.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
