The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of September 13, 2023, in the 1800 block of Washington Avenue and left one person dead.
At about 10:12 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male subject found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased on scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
