The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (September 9, 2022) in the 3000 block of Toledano Street that left one person dead.
At about 7:37 p.m. NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location, followed quickly by an updated call of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male in front of a residence and having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
