NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted for Attempted Murder in Shooting Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Ranson (pictured, black male, DOB; 09-26-1999, 5’10”, 176 pounds) in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on September 11, 2022, in the 5000 block of Lakeshore Drive.

Through investigation, NOPD Third District detectives have developed and positively identified Ranson as the perpetrator who, just before 5:00 a.m. on September 11, allegedly shot the victim during a verbal altercation.

Ranson is wanted on one count of attempted second-degree murder.
