NOPD Investigates Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide by shooting that occurred around 9:51 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 14) in the 1200 block of South Saratoga Street.

Sixth District officers responded to reports of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon their arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS, where he later died.

Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim’s name upon completion of an autopsy and the notification of family.
