NOPD Identifies Wanted Suspect in Fourth District Aggravated Assault Incident

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Ronald Mayo (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-10-1967, 5’10”, 142 pounds) in the investigation of an aggravated assault on September 6, 2021 at the intersection of Maumus Avenue and Jennifer Street.

At about 8:15 a.m., the victim was reportedly walking in the area when a subject later positively identified as Mayo was driving and accelerated his vehicle toward the victim. A second subject pushed the victim aside, preventing the victim from being struck by Mayo’s vehicle. Mayo then fled the location in his vehicle, described as a gray Nissan SUV, possibly a Pathfinder.

When located, Mayo will be arrested for aggravated assault,
