NOPD Seeking Suspect in Fifth District Shooting

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating and identifying a suspect in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on August 29, 2020 in the 1600 block of Desire Street.

At about 10:50 p.m., the victim reportedly walked up to a gray Nissan Altima. As the victim approached the vehicle, a male subject standing outside of the vehicle allegedly produced a handgun and fired at the victim. The victim reportedly fled and return with a handgun and shot back at the suspect. An exchange of gunfire occurred, during which the victim was struck in the leg. The suspect fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram truck (pictured at right), while the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect, pictured at left, is believed to be a black male with a large build, wearing a red hat and black sweatshirt.
