NOPD Investigating Homicide in the Fifth District

New Orleans - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on September 17, 2020 in the 2100 block of Clouet Street in the Fifth District.

At around 6:30 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers were patrolling the area when they heard multiple gunshots.  Upon arrival at the location, officers observed a 26-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  EMS transported the victim to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later the same day.  

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.  No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and determine the official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
