The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (September 9, 2020) in the 1300 block of South Saratoga Street that left one victim dead.
At about 5:09 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was declared dead at the scene, at which time the incident was reclassified as a homicide.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
