The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (September 20, 2019) in the 4700 block of Lynhuber Drive.
At about 8:34 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to call of an aggravated battery by shooting the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive black male inside of an automobile at the location and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
