NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early hours of September 13, 2019.

At about 12:05 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to an initial call for a medical emergency in the 14100 block of Michoud Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim lying on the ground and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in the incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
