NOPD Investigating Homicide in First District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (September 23, 2019) in the 3900 block of Ulloa Street.

At about 12:19 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Upon investigation, officers discovered a male victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death for the decedent.
