The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male victim.
Seventh District officers responded to a medical call at around 10:22 a.m. in the 7900 block of Hayne Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside a rear apartment with trauma to the body. The victim was later pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
