NOPD Investigates Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of a male victim in the 3200 block of Morrice Duncan Drive.

On September 8, 2019 around 3:16 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
