NOPD Investigates Eighth District Aggravated Battery by Shooting

NOPD officers are seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating suspects and vehicles that were reportedly involved in an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the Eighth District.

On September 7, 2019 around 2:17 a.m., the victim was inside of a white Mercedes GLK 350 at the intersection of North Rampart and Touro streets when a black sedan approached from the passenger side. An unknown male reportedly brandished a firearm and fired multiple shots into the white Mercedes. The perpetrator vehicle fled eastbound on N. Rampart Street towards Elysian Fields then unknown.

The subject in the driver seat of the white Mercedes allegedly exited the vehicle after perpetrator one began to flee and fired multiple shots towards the black sedan. The driver of vehicle 2 reportedly drove the victim to a local hospital, dropped him off outside of the emergency room and fled the location.
