NOPD Investigates Early Morning Fatal Crash

NOPD is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on U.S.-90B East near the Camp Street exit this morning (September 5).

 

At approximately 4:32 a.m. NOPD Traffic Fatality Investigators responded to a car crash on the elevated portion of U.S.-90 East near the Camp Street exit. Upon arrival, they learned that a black Honda Accord and a white GMC pickup truck were both headed eastbound when the two vehicles became involved in a crash. As a result of the crash, the 48-year-old male driver of the Honda was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the roadway. Subsequently, another vehicle, Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling eastbound on U. S.-90B East and struck the ejected driver who was on the roadway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

The investigation is ongoing.

 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office releases victims’ names and official cause of death.
