NOPD Arrests Suspect in Second District Sexual Battery

The NOPD today (September 21, 2019) arrested Carlos Pena Cifuentes (DOB: 07-07-1998) in the investigation of a sexual battery that occurred on September 20, 2019 in the 1000 block of Broadway Street.

At about 2:30 a.m., a female victim was sexually assaulted at The Boot Bar, located in the 1000 block of Broadway Street.

Through investigation, NOPD detectives were able to positively identify Cifuentes as the perpetrator and obtain a warrant for his arrest on a charge of sexual battery.

Cifuentes – identified as a Loyola University student originally from Madrid, Spain – was arrested today without incident and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center accordingly.

Investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. The investigation has been a collaborative effort between the NOPD, Loyola University Police and Tulane University Police. The owner of The Boot Bar has also been cooperative with police throughout this investigation.
