Suspect, Person of Interest Sought in Investigation of Homicide on Governor Nicholls Street

The NOPD continues to search for a suspect and a person of interest in the investigation of the homicide of Russell Teal, which occurred in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street on February 5, 2018.

In the early morning hours of February 5, Russell Teal was found dead in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street. An autopsy later determined Teal’s death was a homicide. Through follow-up investigation, investigators have determined a suspect and a person of interest in this investigation.

The person pictured at left wearing a black and white striped jacket is considered a suspect and is wanted in this incident. The person pictured at right wearing glasses and a red backpack is considered a person of interest and is sought for questioning in this incident. The person of interest is considered a suspect at this time.
