Subject Identified in Theft, Auto Theft on Caton Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Tirek “Reekie” Magee (DOB: 12-05-1999) in connection with a theft and an auto theft that both occurred in the 2100 block of Caton Street on September 21, 2018.

At about 1:00 p.m., one of the victims left his black 2006 Nissan Altima parked and secured in a public parking lot at the location. When he returned to his vehicle later in the day, he discovered his vehicle to be missing. A review of surveillance footage from the location showed an unknown black male approach the location on a black bicycle, at which time an unknown person gave him access to the building. A few moments later, the unknown black male is seen exiting the vehicle and entering the vicitm’s vehicle before driving away from the location.

During the investigation, detectives learned that a female at the location also reported her wallet had been stolen at the same time of the incident.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives developed Magee as the perpetrator in both of these incidents and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
