NOPD Searching for Second Suspect in Shooting on Canal Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Derrion Robinson (DOB: 12-13-1997), identified as a second suspect in a shooting incident that occurred in the 600 block of Canal Street on September 23, 2018.

Through investigation, detectives have determined that at about 4:37 p.m., Robinson and several other unknown subjects were involved in a verbal and/or physical altercation. During the altercation, Robinson allegedly directed another suspect involved in the altercation to shoot, as the suspect produced a handgun and allegedly fired one shot in the direction of a fleeing subject.

When located, Robinson will be arrested on one count of aggravated battery by shooting.

Robinson is currently being sought along with an unknown black male seen on video allegedly firing a handgun at a fleeing subject in this incident. Additionally, detectives continue to seek a person of interest for questioning in this incident.
