NOPD Identifies Suspect in Auto Theft on Newton Street

NOPD Identifies Suspect in Auto Theft on Newton Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Cornelius Ross (DOB: 02-19-1993) in connection with an auto theft that occurred on September 15, 2018 in the 1400 block of Newton Street.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., a male subject was observed via surveillance footage exiting a dark gray Acura four-door sedan. He then proceeded to the victim’s vehicle, which was open with the keys in the ignition and engine running, entered the vehicle and fled the location in the vehicle.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives were able to positively identify Ross as the perpetrator in this incident and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Ross is described as a light-complexioned black male, standing between 5’9”-5’11” with a slim build, low Afro hair style and tattoos covering both arms.  He was last seen wearing a white tank top shirt and black jogging pants with yellow stripes.
