Suspect Wanted for Stealing Wallet on St. Charles Avenue

The NOPD Sixth District is seeking assistance from the public in locating and identifying a female subject after she was seen taking a victim’s wallet from her purse on September 3, 2017. 

At approximately 9:22 p.m., the victim was sitting outside in the 1900 block of St. Charles Avenue with her purse placed at the back of her chair.  The victim stated an unknown black female subject approached her and gave her a hug.  After reviewing surveillance video, the suspect is observed taking the victim’s wallet out of her purse while hugging the victim. She was then seen fleeing in a cruiser style bicycle with the victim’s property.

The suspect is described as being about 5’2’’ to 5’4’’ tall with short hair.
