Suspect Identified in Theft on North Dorgenois Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Shackner Lanza (DOB: 12-23-1991) in connection with a theft that occurred in the 300 block of North Dorgenois Street on September 14, 2017.

At about 11:00 a.m., Lanza is believed to have traveled to the victim’s home in the area to wait for a ride from that location, 322 N. Dorgenois. The victim reportedly told Lanza he could wait in the living room while the victim went to take a shower. At about 11:30am, the victim returned to the living room and noticed Lanza was no longer there. At that time, the victim discovered his white Google Chromebook laptop computer was missing from the coffee table. The victim advised he last observed his computer on the coffee table prior to taking a shower.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned Lanza has a history of committing thefts from acquaintances in the metro New Orleans area who provide shelter for him. However, these previous incidents had gone unreported.

Lanza is described as a Hispanic male with long curly hair and a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm
