NOPD Arrests Suspect on Drug, Gun Possession Charges on Monroe Street

The NOPD has arrested Daniel Dalcour (DOB: 06-30-1988) on drug and gun possession charges while on proactive patrol in the 1700 block of Monroe Street on September 10, 2017.

At about 9:21 p.m., Second District officers were patrolling in the area when they observed an unknown black male later identified as Dalcour in an alley near an abandoned house. When officers approached the location, Dalcour fled on foot toward the rear of the abandoned house. Officers pursued on foot as Dalcour continued to flee through adjacent empty lots along Hickory Street. Officers apprehended Dalcour in a nearby lot.

A subsequent search of the path Dalcour traveled in his flight revealed a small white rock-like substance that later tested positive as crack cocaine. Officers also discovered a handgun under the residence along the same path. The handgun was later found to have been reported stolen.

Dalcour was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a firearm and flight from an officer. A booking photo of Dalcour is not available at this time.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact Second District detectives at 504-658-6020. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
