Heroin, Marijuana Found on Suspect in Second District

NOPD Second District officers arrested Jermaine Jackson (DOB:9-18-1981) on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 after he was found to be in possession of heroin and marijuana.

At approximately 8 p.m., Second District officers Jason Jorgenson and Michael Lane were patrolling northbound on General Ogden Street with the windows down when they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the intersection of General Ogden and Olive Streets.

The officers then observed the strong odor coming from a group of people standing on the sidewalk of the intersection. Officers then exited their vehicles and approached the group of people who were revealed to have just used marijuana. After speaking with the individuals, officers then conducted a pat-down on each person. 

Through the course of the investigation, a black male, later identified as Jermaine Jackson was found to be in possession of 39 individually wrapped plastic bags containing what was later determined to be heroin, a clear plastic bag from his front left pocket containing what was later determined to be marijuana and a digital scale that was located in his right front pocket.

Jackson was arrested and booked with possession of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana).
