NOPD Investigating Shooting Deaths in Fourth District

The NOPD is investigating the shooting deaths of a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man. The offense occurred shortly before 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of Jo Ann Place.

According to investigators, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The girl was pronounced dead on the scene, and the man was transported to a local hospital where he later died. With these developments, the signal for the incident has been changed to a homicide.

Detectives do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public with this incident. They are in the process of gathering information to determine what led to this tragic outcome. No further information is currently available.
