The NOPD is seeking a suspect in connection with an auto theft that occurred in the Eighth District.
On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at about 8:00 p.m., an auto theft occurred in the 900 Block of Canal Street. A 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was reported stolen and subsequently recovered in Kenner, LA.
Gene Victor, (pictured, black male DOB: 5-7-1984) was apprehended with the stolen vehicle.
However, he is still being sought by NOPD for the actual vehicle theft and an arrest warrant has been issued.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Victor is asked to contact Eighth District detectives at (504) 658-6080 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
All persons are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
