NOPD Arrests Suspect in Multiple Auto Thefts

The NOPD has arrested Ja'hron G Hampton (black male DOB: 4/21/2005), in connection with multiple auto thefts.

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, at about 6:30 p.m. multiple auto thefts occurred in the 300 block of  Canal Street.

Through investigation, detectives identified Hampton as the perpetrator who allegedly stole a  Dodge Charger and an Infiniti Q50.

The Infiniti was later located by Fifth District officers with Hampton allegedly inside, however he was able to flee before he could be arrested.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at about 3:30 p.m., Hampton was arrested in the 2700 block of Tulane Avenue without incident.

Hampton has been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, illegal possession of a motor vehicle and resisting an officer.
