Suspect Identified in NOPD Investigation of Fourth District Shooting

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jacolby Simmons (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-26-2001) in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on October 3, 2022, in the 3300 block of Behrman Highway.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that the victim and perpetrator were involved in a verbal argument that became physical. As the victim drove away from the scene, the suspect opened fire and the gunfire struck the victim in the arm.

Fourth District detectives positively identified Simmons as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on one count each of aggravated second-degree battery and for violation of a protective order.

Anyone with additional information on Jacolby Simmons’ whereabouts is urged to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
