NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

Members of the New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Unit are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old male.  The offense occurred in an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Chimney Wood Lane.            

At approximately 4:18 pm, the victim arrived at the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead.       

Detectives learned the victim was shot at the location and was transported to the hospital by private conveyance.           

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.  

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause death.
