The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning (October 27, 2022) in the 7800 block of Weaver Avenue that left one person dead.
At about 3:49 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers in the area reported hearing shots fired and responded. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male victim lying in the street and having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
