NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fourth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (October 12, 2022) in the 1400 block of Southlawn Boulevard that left one person dead.

At about 8:46 p.m., NOPD Fourth District detectives responded to an initial call of shots fired at the location. On arrival, officers located a unresponsive male victim flying outside of a residence and having sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was declared deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
