NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (October 21, 2022) that left one person dead and two additional victims wounded.

At about 10:14 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject down near a residence and having sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

Two additional male gunshot wound victims and one female gunshot wound victim all arrived via private conveyance to a local hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and determine official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
