NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in Hit-and-Run Investigation

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is seeking to locate an individual for questioning regarding a hit-and-run incident that occurred on August 19, 2021 at the intersection of General de Gaulle Drive and Westbend Parkway.

At about 1:06 a.m., the victim was traveling west on General De Gaulle Drive in the far right-hand lane when she stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection at Westbend Parkway.  As her signal turned green, she began to proceed through the intersection.  At that time, a Ford F-150 truck traveling south on Westbend Parkway disregarded the red traffic light and struck the victim’s vehicle.  The three occupants of the suspect vehicle then fled the scene on foot, abandoning the vehicle.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment of reported minor injuries.

Through investigation, NOPD investigators have developed Rony Colinderes (pictured; Hispanic male, DOB: 03-25-1963) as a person of interest in this investigation. Colinderes is not currently wanted on criminal charges.  However, investigators wish to question him regarding this incident.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or on the whereabouts of the listed person of interest is asked to contact NOPD Traffic Division Hit-and-Run Investigator Jeffery Carradine at 504-658-6217 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
