NOPD Seeking Person of Interest in 2020 Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a subject for questioning as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on June 4, 2020 in the 2100 block of Desire Street.

At around 9:38 p.m. on June 4, 2020, NOPD Fifth District Officers received a call of shots fired in the 2100 block of Desire Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Alfred Simon.

The pictured black male, known by the nickname “Poppa”, is not considered to be a suspect in this incident at this time. However, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives feel this subject may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview him.
