NOPD Investigating Lamarque Street Homicide

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a homicide by shooting that occurred Tuesday (October 26, 2021) in the 700 block of Lamarque Street. 

At around 10:11 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers were notified of an aggravated battery by shooting incident after a 33-year-old male victim arrived by private conveyance at a local hospital suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.  Shortly after, the victim was pronounced dead and the incident was reclassified to homicide.  NOPD Homicide detectives assumed control of the investigation and determined the incident occurred on Lamarque Street.

Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

No additional details are available at this time.  The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
