NOPD Investigates Fifth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Fifth District on October 20, 2021.

A call reporting shots having been fired in the 1100 block of Pauline Street was received around 6:55 p.m.

When responding officers arrived, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators are in the process of gathering information that will help them identify a person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
