NOPD Arrests Suspect in Fourth District Shooting

On October 25, 2021, the NOPD arrested Corey Roberson (pictured, black male, DOB: 10-07-1979) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on October 23, 2021 at the intersection of Belleville and De Armes streets.

On the date of the incident, the victim was reportedly walking near the intersection when he was approached by an unknown vehicle. A subject exited the vehicle, approached the victim, produced a firearm, and shot the victim multiple times. The subject then fled the location.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives developed and positively identified Roberson as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On the evening of October 25, NOPD Fourth District officers received a call advising that Roberson was in the area of the 1900 block of Newton Street. Officers arrived at the location, observed Roberson and arrested him without incident. During the arrest, Roberson was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm concealed on his person.

Corey Roberson was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated battery by shooting and with illegal carry of a firearm. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Gretna Police Department.
