Suspect Arrested in Fourth District Shooting

U.S. Marshals have arrested Dicarlo Young (pictured, male, DOB: 08-25-1976), who was wanted by the NOPD in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on September 16, 2020 in the 1300 block of Flanders Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that at about 10:00 p.m. on the listed date, the victim and Young were engaged in a verbal argument. During the argument, Young allegedly produced a handgun and shot the victim in the leg. Young then reportedly stole the victim’s house keys and fled the location.

After a warrant was obtained by Fourth District detectives for Young’s arrest, U.S. Marshals located and arrested Young, who was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated second degree battery, illegal use of a weapon and theft.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040.
