NOPD Seeking Wanted Suspects in Seventh District Shooting

The NOPD has obtained arrest warrants for Dennis Martin (pictured at left, male, DOB: 11-03-1987) and Derick Martin (pictured at right, male, DOB: 05-25-1989) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on October 17, 2020 in the 4400 block of Cessna Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Seventh District detectives determined that at about 11:40 a.m., the victim was in the 4400 Block of Cessna Court, when they reportedly observed two black males – later positively identified as the aforementioned suspects – produce firearms and began firing at the victim. The victim fled on foot as the suspects allegedly followed, continuing to fire their weapons. The victim ultimately sustained three gunshot wounds to the lower body. The suspects fled the scene.

Dennis Martin and Derick Martin are each wanted for second degree aggravated battery.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or on the whereabouts of the wanted suspects is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
