NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting in Fourth District

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that left one dead and one injured Monday night (Oct. 26) in the Fourth District.

At around 8:48 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to reports of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 1300 block of Southlawn Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS. The female victim was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of an autopsy and notification of family.
