NOPD Announces Arrests in Homicide, Shooting Investigations

NOPD Announces Arrests in Homicide, Shooting Investigations

The NOPD today announced the arrest of three suspects in three respective homicide investigations and one shooting investigation.

Those arrested include:

  • Tiji L. Harris Sr. (pictured at left, DOB: 07-17-1981), who has been arrested in connection with a homicide on September 29, 2020 in the 4600 block of Alcee Fortier Boulevard. Harris was arrested on October 14 and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one count of second-degree murder.
  • Darryl Douglas (not pictured, DOB: 02-25-2002), who has been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred on October 13, 2020 at the intersection of Alvar Street and Florida Avenue. Douglas was arrested on October 14 in Jefferson Parish and is currently incarcerated there. A listing of charges against Douglas was not immediately available.
  • Curtis Loyd (pictured at right, DOB: 08-02-2001) who was arrested on October 21 in connection with a homicide that occurred on October 1, 2020 in the 2000 block of Cypress Acres Drive. Loyd was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one count of second-degree murder. Loyd had previously been arrested on Oct. 16 for an attempted murder incident, where he has been charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of aggravated second-degree battery and one count of simple criminal damage to property.
