Suspect Arrested for Cruelty to Animals and Illegal Discharge of a Weapon

UPDATE: Junior Johnson was arrested and booked in connection with this investigation.

 

ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating Junior Johnson (DOB: 06/22/1990), after he was accused of shooting the victim’s dog in the 6000 block of Downman Road.

The reporting person told police that on October 21, 2019 around 2:15 a.m., he took the -9-month-old Pitt Bull out to use the bathroom when the pictured subject approached and fired several shots at the dog. The dog reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was found deceased on scene.
