Suspect Sought in Seventh District Simple Robbery

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a subject in the investigation of a simple robbery that occurred on October 7, 2019.

At approximately 11:42 a.m., the pictured unknown black male entered the Family Dollar store in the 7300 block of Chef Menteur Highway and allegedly began placing baby supplies into his pockets. The manager reportedly approached the subject, who stated he was not stealing and was going to purchase the merchandise in his pockets.  As the manager and subject approached the checkout desk, the subject shoved the manager into a display and fled toward the exit doors. The manager attempted to reach the doors first, in order to lock them. However, the suspect again allegedly shoved the manager out of the way and fled the business. The suspect was then seen entering a gray 2015 Nissan Altima bearing Louisiana license plate DV42412 and leaving the area.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at  1-877-903-STOP (7867).
