NOPD Arrests Suspect in Second District Shooting

The NOPD arrested Joseph Ancar (pictured, DOB: 02-16-1994) in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on September 18, 2019.

On September 18, 2019, a shooting occurred near the intersection of Monroe and Green Street. During the course of investigation, NOPD Second District Detectives positively identified Ancar as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

Ancar was arrested on October 5 during a traffic stop and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated battery by shooting and for a probation violation.
