NOPD Seeking Suspect in Simple Robbery on Baronne Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating and identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for a simple robbery that occurred on October 15, 2018 in the 300 block of Baronne Street.

The victim told police that at about 2:25 a.m., he was approached by an unknown black male who sat beside her and engaged in conversation. As the victim got up and began walking away, the male reportedly snatched her purse and ran. The victim chased the male and recovered her purse. However, the male allegedly attacked her by repeatedly punching her in an attempt to take the purse again. The perpetrator was unsuccessful and fled on Baronne Street, then unknown.
